Eriacta is an unapproved sildenafil tablet attributed to Ranbaxy, now part of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, sold at the top approved strength.

Side effects climb with the dose
In fixed-dose trials of approved sildenafil, headache, flushing, indigestion and visual effects all became more frequent as the dose rose, and the highest strength produced them most often.1

A single-strength tablet removes the step-down that approved dosing uses when a lower dose is needed.3

How approved sildenafil is taken

Approved sildenafil usually starts at 50 mg about an hour before sex, is lowered to 25 mg or raised to 100 mg according to effect and tolerability, and is taken no more than once a day.1

Before the first dose

Bring a full list of medicines, including any nitrate, blood pressure, prostate or HIV medicine, because several of them change the starting dose or rule sildenafil out altogether. Tell the prescriber about heart disease, a recent heart attack or stroke, and any eye condition.1

What not to do

Do not treat the highest strength as the starting point, and do not take more than one dose in 24 hours, whatever the strength of the tablet. Do not combine it with any other erectile dysfunction medicine.
