A little bit about me:am having trouble breathing, have no med insurance, a veteran but veteran hospitals are overwhelmed, at first i thought the breathing difficulty was from exposure to asbestos from shipyard discipline, now am concerned that it may be my thorat closing as is caused by als, started gasping for air the first time in nov 06 and in a years time had around a dozen similar instances,sometimes heavy physical exertiion was involved other times inactive, it just feels like my throat closes and i cant get a breath of air, usually lasts less than 2 minutes before i can regulate my breathing, anyone experienced anything similar?? in the past 2 months the attacks have grown much more frequent, sometimes i now wake up gasping for air? money for healthcare ?all i can do to meet my mortgage and gas and food,
any suggestions??

other than breathing issue i feel fine, except for neck and shoulder soreness, which feels like pressure being pushed downwards almost all of the time, but i have a very physically taxing job in brick and stone masonry
