Pulmonary Embolism (PE) is a blockage of the artery or one of its branches, usually occurring when a venous thrombus (blood clot from a vein) becomes dislocated from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. This process is termed thromboembolism. The symtoms may include acute chest pain, shortness of breath and fast breating, and fast diagnosis and treatment is necessary.
