  • If you have been suffering along time you should talk to your doctor. Are over the counter meds working at all? I use cold compresses to back of my neck. Peppermint oil to my temples helps. Dark rooms without noise can help me also but I suffer from migrains with nerological tendencies.I alternate tylonol and aleeve b/c if you stick with the same one all the time it doesn't seem to work(at least for me)I have headaches that aren't full blown migrains so I don't use my meds for those I try the things I have told you about. Hope it helps and check your blood pressure it coul dbe slighty high and tha tis the cause. Good Luck!

  • You can probably feel better by making lifestyle changes, learning ways to relax, and occasionally by taking medications. There are two goals when treating any type of headache: prevent future attacks and abort or relieve current pain. Prevention includes taking prescribed medications, avoiding or minimizing the causes, and learning self-help measures, such as biofeedback or relaxation exercises.

  • If the doctor has examined you without finding any serious cause for the headaches, these tips might help:
    • Avoid excessive use of alcohol and tobacco.
    • Engage in correct posture while sitting and working. The type of chair you use is important. It should be one that maximizes comfort and good posture and may need to be adjusted to suit your needs.
    • Perform relaxation techniques on a consistent basis.
    • Get plenty of fresh air and exercise.
    • Some people find that taking the natural herbal treatment Feverfew is very effective at reducing or preventing their headaches occurring. This needs to be taken daily – even if no headache is present – to have an effect. Consult your GP before starting this.
