What are the outcomes of injuring the jaw joints?
I slipped the other day, fell forward and hit my jaw. The Dr. told me I have a small bleeding in my jaw joint and that I should wait 2 days and then start “home physiotherapy”. That means opening and closing the jaw several times during the day. Why is that? What happens if I don’t? is it a serious condition?

About 12 years ago I hit someone in the jaw and my punishment was to do a little research about that situation exactly…apparently when you injure your temporomandibular joint (jaw joint) there is a chance of blood entering it. In the blood there are cells that can manufacture fibers. If you leave the jaw static those fibers will develop easily and after a while create bone tissue. That means you won’t be able to move your jaw. Luckily, it’s v-e-r-y easy to avoid this situation- open and close your jaw several times a day.
B.T.W- I never hit anyone again…very smart my parents…
