My uncle is a 55 years old male. He have a history of type 2 diabetes running in our family. His weight is under control and he exercise regularly. Four years ago his blood sugar was 6.5 mg/dl and now he have brought it down to 6.2 mg/dl. A French doctor says he have type 2 diabetes. Can you tell me, from what he is suffering? What precautions should he take, other than avoiding sugar? Is it possible to correct his sugar level through diet and exercise?

The human body is remarkable and anything is possible. With that said you should work to keep your diabetes in check. You want to keep your blood glucose levels within range the best you can throughout the day. You can achieve this with proper diet. You probably already have tons of information about diets for diabetics, so I'll keep this short. Since you are aware that you have DM2, its up to you to make the right decisions for your body. I have given a video link for your benefit :

6.5 mg/dl doesn't seem right...i think the numbers you gave are incorrect. anyway- in the meanwhile he is doing the right thing, exercising and eating healthy.

If your a Diabetic Type II, try an Herb supplement containg Bitter Melon Fruit extract. It has significantly helped to get my blood sugar levels to normal and eliminate all peripheral neoropathy symptoms soon after starting it. A friend of mine, who is more serious, has been able to elliminate all use injectable insulin and also is getting excellent sugar regulation. Bitter Melon is an asian fruit and has been used for centuries to improve symptoms of high blood sugar. It is about 5 cents per pill. I use Nature's Herbs 900 mg. Available online and some places that sell Herbs. Univesity studies says that it significantly reduces resistance to insulin, which is the source of Type II. Don't know if it will help Type I at all. Give it a try, you may be amazed at how well it works for you. I have been taking it for 5 months now and I like it.
