  • sport is a very helpful treatment for arthritis. it slows down the process of the disease - there are different researches about that. but in the long run if it helps..? logically i would say it's not helping if as a young person- it helps if you continue doing it as an older person. but i haven't seen researches about it in pubmed...so i can't say for sure.

  • Depends on the kind of arthritis you refer to. If you refer to osteroarthritis (the common arthritic disease affecting the elderlies), than strenuous physical activity may actually predispose one to arthritis at older age. The key is avoiding excessive pressure on joints and “wear and tear” damage. You may consult your doctor about this subject for more precise precautions.

  • I read an article regarding arthritis and how it is a derivative of pain. Like Tiffany said, just don't cause "wear and tear" DAMAGE or TRAUMA.
