How effective is alcohol during the 1st month of pregnancy?
I just found out that I am pregnant (w/home pregnancy test). I am still on vacation and will be going home in two days to see my dr. It was not a plan pregnancy. And I consumed alcohol during the past two weeks. I believe I could be about a month and half pregnant. What do you guys think? What should I do?

how much is the big question. if it was just a bit every now and then- it shouldn't be a problem, but if it was a large amount of alcohol- it can cause alot of unwanted problems. but it doesn't mean you should terminate the pregnancy or something- just that you should be aware and inform the doctor about it and he'll direct you to the proper tests.

Don't stress about the alcohol you have drunk. Many women drink before they realize they are pregnant. Just stop drinking now. Your baby will be fine.

Alcohol is a bad idea during pregnancy. But the amount here is the issue. If you only had a glass of wine occasionally- your baby will be fine. If you got totally wasted every night for 2 weeks- that means you probably pregnant because of it and that is not the best situation. You should go be checked.

ALCOHOL AND PREGNANCY---the damage that alcohol can cause a fetus---drinking more than two drinks per day(for example, two 1-ounce glasses of spirits, two 4-ounce glasses of wine,or two 8-ounce glasses of beer)increases the chance of FETAL ALCOHOL SYNDROME.mrfoot56
