I have sharp pain in upper left back, what could that be?

When I inhale, it hurts also. Yesterday, the pain penetrated through the front to below my breast and a little in my side also. The pain is above the kidney in the back, and under the breast in the front.

“ The answer I received was from Brandon. The answer he gave sounded a lot like what the doctor was trying to explain, but much easier to understand/comprehend. „

  • could be number of things, it could be a sprained intercostal muscle - the muscles between the ribs. it can cause pain while breathing and because it doesn't happen very often- people have no idea what it is. and it could also be a fracture of the rib, the ribs are a very delicate bone. especially i older people, it can be fractured easily and cause pain while breathing. there probably more conditions that have this symptom, but you should look them up with a Dr. that can test for them.
