Would you recomend Acai Burn for weight loss over Alli? Has anyone had real results with Acai Burn or Alli?

Do these weight loss supplements work? What is the difference between Acai Burn and Alli?

According to the website www.acaiburn.com, "Acai Burn is a breakthrough new formula that combines the scientific research of the West with the amazing antioxidant power of the Acai Berry."

Also, acording to the site: "The average weight loss was 14.99 and 12.54 pounds with key ingredients (Garcinia cambogia extract, chromium polyniconate and Gymnema sylvestre extract) in AcaiBurn vs. just 3.06 and 3.53 pounds with a placebo in two 8-week clinical studies. Both groups dieted and exercised. That means the key ingredients in AcaiBurn were found to help cause up to 450% MORE WEIGHT LOSS than dieting and exercising alone will get you"

I do not know whether or not to believe this. If you have used any of these, please let me know, and if you have any thoughts on them (ie. Alli vs. Acai Burn) I would be interested hearing a comparison.

  • I tried to retrieve the study quoted in your question, but couldn't find it, so it'd be very helpful if you could actually give the reference to it.

Regarding your question, although the substances in the Acai formulation were implicated as assisting in weight reductions, randomized, controlled trials failed to show consistent success. What does it mean? Mainly, it means that it's not clear what the benefits of using it are, so one should always consider the potential doubtful benefit compared to the risks associated.

In addition it should be stressed that no weight reduction supplementation will succeed (or last in the long-term) without changing life style - mainly diet and exercise.

    Good luck!

  • Dagmar gives a good argument... first of all the Alli - it's a pill that inhibits the absorption of fat in the intestine. you loose a few pounds, life is great. then you gain them because the body is not stupid, if he wants it- he'll get it. in addition it has unpleasant side effects (anal leakage..not a fun thing in parties).
about the Acai- it's a very tasty berry, but our body is an amazing machine that cannot be fooled easily, there's nothing wrong with food supplements but the ONLY healthy PROVEN way of loosing weight- is by balanced nutrition and if you'll add physical activity to it it will even be faster and healthier.

trust me, i tried all sort of diets and products over the years. i lost and gained back about 150 lb due to those diets. the only one that lasted is :
    balanced diet + physical activity.

    hope that helps! :)

  • Alli is a weight loss drug and is available over the-counter as one of the first weight loss drugs that has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Alli is not a fat burner but just a fat inhibitor whose work is to prevent the fats being absorbed by the body. If you eat fatty foods and if you are taking Alli, then you have to expect some side effects. These are embarrassing as the fat practically leaks from your body in the form of oily anal seepage that has a bad odor and loose stools. If you are on a low fat diet, then you most probably would not need Alli. But you can lose up to one pound per month with Alli if you are willing to put up with its side effects!
The Acai Burn is a great supplement and the latest weight loss fad. Acai Burn has no side effects and speeds up your metabolic rate. The Acai Burn increases your energy and is made from 100% natural ingredients. The best part is, it’s safe to recommend this for children too including men and women. The Acai Burn

  • Hey Man !
listen i am not a big freak of diet with pills and chemical aid ... i don't think it's healthy .. and i am against the all idea of loosing weight by the power of pills and science and not even trying to work on your self to loos weight and exercise ... i mean where did it all go ??? there was a time when someone felt a little over weight .. he's or she's worked out and made and effort to change their condition .. it worked .. with a lot of faith and sweat and with a great will and determination it was doable and in the reach of your hand .. if so it was , so what have change ? and that leads me to my next point the relates to your issue and my opinion about it ... during the last 10 - 15 years a new industry was flourished !! the industry of fast and reachable food - the junkfood . for 10 - 15 years people ate junkfood like there is no tomorrow .. why .. it's reachable , it's everywhere .. it's cheap and quite frankly it taste good ! so they ate and ate without thinking on

  • Well I've actually bever heard about it, will surely check it out now but just so you know, when I was in Brazil-which is the origen country of the Acai, I was tols it's real fattening, moreover, felt it on me...having a plate or two every day for 2-3 weeks made it harder to get into my bikini... take it under consideration...
