Before our marriage my hubby is a social drinker. Is he going alcoholic? What are the signs of alcoholism?

I got married a year back. My hubby told me before our marriage that he is a social drinker. I didn’t take it serious as I felt social drinking is harmless. But now-a-days he reaches home drunk late in the night and behaves violent. He got pink slip from his current employer for his inappropriate behavior in the office too. Is he going alcoholic? What are the signs of alcoholism?

  • If a person becomes addicted to alcohol in spite of its harmful effects, he is said to be entering into alcoholism. Alcoholism could be due to genetic factors, psychological or social factors. Alcoholism is a cause for concern throughout the world. There is a vast difference between alcohol intake and alcoholism; the former relates to mere consumption of alcohol without addiction and later refers to uncontrolled alcohol consumption. In your case, his behavior in the office is abnormal and is a clear sign that he is going alcoholic and requires treatment to prevent further impairment.
