I have a baby girl and I am in my third trimester. I was willing to find the gender and my hubby too. You will get more happiness if you know the gender after birth. This keeps your whole pregnancy very interesting. I have done that for my husband who was very curious to know the gender before birth. Better don’t pressurize on her to know the baby gender. If you decide mutually then you can take measures to know the gender.

Just tell her that she'll be getting a lot of green and yellow for her baby shower! I'm still not sure if I want to know the gender when I'm pregnant, but that's one reason for finding out. Not having been pregnant though, I don't know how she feels about this emotionally. You may want to lay off for a little while, just letting her know how you feel. She's probably going through a lot right now and will eventually make up her mind. (You don't want her to regret her decision).

Hey, Derik.. it's quite funny to read your story and question.
I think your wife just wants it to be a surprise for both of you, and maybe she doesn't want to have negative expectation (I mean, if you are expecting a boy, and then the ultrasound examination says that it is a girl, then you will get disappointed).
So, here is my tips for you, respect your wife and just give her some space, but after the regular pregnancy check up, just ask the doctor without your wife needs to know, and KEEP THAT for yourself only. win-win solution, right?
