Please tell me what to do as I have no self-esteem and I am feeling really low.

My girlfriend has left me and she cannot understand that I feel sluggish with no energy and restless. Our love life has lost its magic as I feel physically and mentally drained with fatigue and exhaustion. I was just discharged from the army about 6 months back and I don’t know whether this has affected me. Please tell me what to do as I have no self-esteem and I am feeling really low.

  • That feeling of low self esteem and exhaustion sounds is a common symtom of clinical depression. Your doctor can treat it. You may be having difficulty dealing with regular civilian life and getting your life going again. Military life is quite regimented and the military takes good care of its service members. You could check in with the VA and see if one of their doctors can help you.
You were probably used to having lots of buddies in the miltary that you could talk to and pal around. Its kind of an emotional support we all we need. I'm sure you left the military for good reasons and like myself got tired of many of the negatives that went with it.

I think the best thing you can do is make new buddies, new girl friends, and try to live where ever you are. There is always plenty you can get involved in. Things will probably get better with time.

Its not too difficult to get help from a doctor. Make an appointment and explain the whole thing.

    Maybe a different job where

  • It is very difficult for people to understand what is happening to a person’s body leave alone his mind. Being a soldier and fighting in wars always leaves a debilitating effect on the mind. I can understand how you feel and sympathize with you, but you must see a doctor and get professional help to get you back to normal.

  • Everytime that my self-esteem goes low, I read some self-help books to boost my self-esteem. I have a favorite book which is the Fabulous Self-Esteem by Amy Twain to which I just downloaded in www.fabulousselfesteem.com. It really helps.
