My child does not participate in the class and with other children please tell me why he doing like this?

My son is 3 years old and I have let him in the day care since 1.5 years I have noticed that for the past few months he has been showing severe separation anxiety from me. Well he do cry everyday when he goes to school, he is not interested in sleeping without me available in the room and he comes to my bedroom every night without fail. This happens even when the time is 2 am. Also I have received complaints from his school that he does not participate in the class and with other children. He is also having trouble holding the pencil correctly and added to that he "flaps" his hands when he throws a tantrum. He also has an imaginary friend and his speech is too good. Please help.

  • Hi, I think there is nothing to worry and you need to understand that hand flapping occur in about 20 percent of typically developing children. Well there might be several reasons behind separation anxiety. I did notice that you had put him in the day care and he would have felt so lonely and could have missed you a lot. Someone there could have been so rude to him.

I could give you few tips here and please analyze accordingly. Please let me know on his understanding of language and how is he responding to the questions (mainly “why” Questions). Can he follow small instructions such as step 1, step 2 & step3 etc at a time. Well I think in spite of all this, you could consult a physician and have him thoroughly examined. Hope for the best and he should be normal.

  • In the seven first years, each child needs to be as much as possible in the aura of this mother. This daily separation is for sure not good, but probably needed, because you have to work. Do you have other children? When your child is with other kids, he has not your presence or a known ambience/environment. So he stays silent for his own protection.

  • Vaccinations in this age are very dangerous and make no sense, because the immun-system needs three years to become "finished".

Read about vaccinations under this link (the English-spoken sites are starting at the middle of the page:
