My sister was diagnosed for anxiety disorder.

My sister was diagnosed for anxiety disorder. She was given some medicines and was also sent to psychotherapy. My understanding said that how can drugs treat her as it is a Psychological problem. Whereas yesterday after a month we met the doctor and her medicines were stopped and she was told to continue with her psychotherapy. Why do they give her if they have to remove them after a month?

  • These medicines are given for anxiety disorder but they have a high possibility of side effects and addiction so they are stopped when doctors find it appropriate. Psychotherapy is the only proper treatment for anxiety but still medicines are also of help.
