My sister have been diagnosed for bipolar disorder. She is taking medicines and now the doctor has told that they will start her psychotherapy treatment. If this a problem for chemical in the brain then can this therapy help her?

  • Yes this can and this is the reason that she is going to get this treatment. Though chemical problem is known to be the cause for bipolar but still this is not been established as the only cause for bipolar. Many other causes are there which disturbs the chemical balance in the brain. Psychotherapy helps a bipolar person to get well.

  • Patience with bipolar disorder often experience triggers, situations that can trigger a mood or an acton. psychotheropy helps the patient recognize those triggers and helps them to find alternative ways to deal with them. It also helps the patient to recognize when they are about to have a manic or depressive eppisode and teaches them what steps to take to control the switch in mood. Psychotheropy is a vital portion of the treatment of bipolar disorder and it seems to me that your sister is experiencing the proper treatments to help her become well again.
