Lemon balm is the most effective thing to help concentration and memory. Melissa officinalis. More information here:
http://www.herbalmedicinefromyourgarden.com/lemon-ba... You can just chew a few leaves or make tea with them, and it's not unpleasant, and not dangerous like Ritalin.
Ritalin is a dangerous drug, and in my view should not be given to anyone, and definitely do not use it if you are not prescribed it. Yes, it can cause damage.
Try meditation to calm you down. Sit and keep back straight. Breathe normally. Just be conscious of your breath, do not try to change it, and not think about anything else. If some other thought comes into your head, just ignore it and go back to watching the breath. Do that for 10 minutes or so every day.

there is a big debate on that now days.. i read an article in "nature" that concludes that if it won't be allowed (the usage of ADHD drugs with healthy people) they will turn to other drugs anyway. that it's their own right to use amplifying drugs that are not addictive. but they also say there are risks inviolved and that similar but safer medication should be investigated.

If you do (want to break prescription laws), then take very very small doses (and tell your doctor if any side effects).
If you need Ritalin to concentrate, maybe you should just talk to your doctor as there may be another cause than ADHD and Ritalin may simply not be the correct prescription. Or perhaps you should get a prescription?
If it is stress causing you to not concentrate, Ritalin may not address the real cause, or it may. It is a drug that affects the brain - there is a result even if you are not ADHD. It is controlled to prevent abuse.
