I do not have this bipolar disorder then why does my son have?

My son has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. His major symptom is depression and sometimes the mania episodes run in him. He doesn’t likes to play with his friends and his education is also affected due to his illness. We have been told that the cause for bipolar can be either genetic or environment. But I do not have this bipolar disorder then why does my son have?

  • You might be having the genes which can cause bipolar. But these genes would have not expressed in you. Your gene after passing to your son would have expressed due to any trigger. A trigger might be environment or anything which is unknown.
