Is the urine test required to confirm for the pregnancy?

My sister is expecting for her pregnancy. Yesterday she has taken her home pregnancy test. It has shown the negative result. Is the urine test required to confirm for the pregnancy? Should she meet the doctor?

  • Yes, she should meet the doctor and she should retake the home pregnancy test. Retesting by home pregnancy test will increase the chance for the correct diagnosis for pregnancy.

  • yes you do need a urine test to confirm pregnancy. Not all at home pregnancies are correct. Going to your doctor is the best way to find out if your pregnant or not.

  • the Home Pregnancy test kit is quite cheap and sensitive enough to detect a pregnancy. but since it detects the HCG level, your sister might want to wait for another several days before trying to hit another pregnancy test.
For confirmation, it is advisable to consult that with your OBGYN doctor.

Good luck! and stay healthy always..
