I have problems coping with my fm , any good advice?

Please- don't give me that "thank the lord for blessing you with the miracle of life" thing. Because at this point I would give it to him back in a sec if I had the guts to do so.

  • Indulge whenever you can. You and i have lots of time to focus on our thoughts. Most people do not have the luxury of taking time to relax and think. OK, we did not ask for these and it's not a very pleasant experience, nevertheless, we have control over how we use this extra time. Instead of dwelling on what our bodies are not doing, give your fantasy full liberty. I started to use my extra time and make little Fimo animals and I sell them on e-bay.

  • First what have you done to try to cope? It would make it easier to answer if we knew some of the things you have tried b/c it sounds as if nothing has worked. So I will ask some of the basics. Have you tried diet changes? Like eating more fruits/veggies, cutting out junk food, caffeine, food that contain artificial flavor /color, and foods high in preservatives. Do you exercise? Such as water, yoga, light aerobics. Other things could be hot/cold compresses, hot baths, therapeutic massage, relation exercises, acupuncture, acupressure and chiropractic manipulation. Also do you have hobbies? Try to work on your hobbies even if it is in five minute increments. Find a support group or someone with FM you can talk to so you know you are not alone. I have not had my diagnosis even a year yet but I am learning and I try to learn and look for ways to help myself and others on a daily bases. One thing I have learned everyone with FM is different. What works for one may not work for the other a

  • Fun distractions, that's my advice to you. When I have one of those episodes of pain- I use my x-box my very smart husband bought me. I stay home and play with my children and see movies and do warm baths with bath foam that was also a good idea from the man who brought me the x-box ;-)
    Try it!
