What can i do to avoid weight changes during episodes?
During depression episodes I add to my weight (could be up to 10 lbs. !!) and during mania I can loose weight in an extreme way…how can I avoid that?

Have you told your therapist about it? You could be having an eating disorder with your bipolar disorder. People tend to disbelieve it can come together and think that if they have bipolar disorder they can’t have an eating disorder but it’s not true! They are connected and you should check it out.

I too have a tendency to weight changes during episodes…it sounds obvious but I avoid it by avoiding episodes…taking my medicines regularly and going to checkups regularly. And from my experience you probably don’t. if it’s because you tried a medicine and it didn’t help or had side effects you couldn’t handle. There are more then one lines of treatment today- go talk to your therapist for info about them.
