I have felt pain for 8 years already on my neck and mid-back and joint rigidity.

How could you tell if it is myofascial pain syndrome or fibromyalgia? I have felt pain for 8 years already on my neck and mid-back and joint rigidity. I have had tests performed like CT scans, MRI's, lab, and everything came back positive and normal so my physician said is “fibromyalgia”. The thing is I can sleep and I have no tiredness like fibro causes.

  • There is a easy assessment that may assist you; there are 18 tender points that generally go along with Fibromyalgia. These are unchanging locations that are tender to the touch and do not pass on pain elsewhere. You can see them here: http://www.fibro-myalgia.com/tenderpoint... Habitually, the patient must have at least 11 of these for diagnosis. On time a diagnosis of exclusion will be made.
