For such emotional trouble, therapy has mixed outcome. It does help a few in a significant manner and some very little. It differs from case to case. It is worth giving a try.

A permanant, lasting, effective cure? Sign me up!!! But seriously, chances are that she will always stuggle, on and off. To make things better she can see a psychiatrist about medication, but therapy is definatly worth a try. Bipolar just doesn't go away, and there is no "magic pill" so the best thing to do is try to learn to cope with it. Therapy is NOT fun, and really difficult at times, but can equip her with skills that will help her learn to manage it. I would get her to a therapist. Just remember, not all therapists work for everyone. If she is seeing one that isn't helping, try another. It's no good to be paying $120 a pop to talk to someone who doesn't help. Trust me, I've been there. Just keep searching until she finds someone she clicks with. And don't get discouraged, I've known people who have seen a dozen therapists before they find someone they work with. But it is far worth it in the end.
