I have heard that yoga helps in treating the bipolar. Is there any other option to treat bipolar?
Christ...
My sister is a bipolar and I am trying to convince her to move to Minnesota with me and she is concerned about the harsh winters and the impact the same could have on her mood. She is very regular to psychotherapist and is taking medicines as has been suggested by the doctor. I know about sad lamps and I have also heard that yoga helps in treating the bipolar. Is there any other option that I could try to ensure that she'd have an easier time?

Ask her to do exercise, yoga, blogging, a good diet, regular sleep patterns, medicines regularly, therapy and every once in a while a good hug. Hope this has helped! Good Luck!

Well, all those things mentioned could possibly help. But the weather can seriously affect symptoms, and being in Minnesota might not be the best thing if she's sensitive to that kind of thing. I know I am, and it sounds like she might be too. Overall, I think consistency is the key: Good amounts of sleep on a regular basis, very good eating habbits, and make sure she stays physically active.
As far as making life easier, I know for me I am the worst off when I am bored. She should try filling her scedule with hobbies that are very relaxing (stressful things will make this backfire) and fun that she enjoys. It's always fun to learn new things, and staying busy certianly helps. There are always things to do, I have taken cake decorating classes, joined a gym, picked up piano, and learned a lot of cool stuff along the way. I would say try everything, you never know what you're going to like. I didn't really ever bake and now am earing money on the side for doing cakes professionally. T
