What would make astigmatism to jump four points in a year in only one eye?

What would make astigmatism to jump four points in a year in only one eye? May be because of change in blood sugar? It happened to me and I like to find the cause behind it to be precaution in the forth coming days.

  • Change in blood sugar has nothing to do with CORNEA. Blood sugar could change the shape of your LENS and it is debated why some individual gain astigmatism and some don’t. Strange phenomenon in the absence of disease (keratoconus etc) would likely go unanswered in your case. Some think it’s a precursor to myopia progression.
