What causes the Meningitis?

My brother has been diagnosed with Meningitis. He is taking antibiotics. Last week he caught fever suddenly and he was already experiencing the symptoms of stiffness in his back and neck. He also showed drastic tiredness and has been resting most of the time. What causes the Meningitis?

Bacteria and virus are the cause of Meningitis. But I think your brother has been infected with bacteria. This can become serious and he must be treated with care.
