What could marijuana cure?

I read today morning about prescribing marijuana and I was shocked so I would like to identify why public get medical marijuana, like what could it cure?

It does not treat anything (except lack of appetite), but it really lessen the signs of some sickness. Multiple Sclerosis sufferers appear to get a lot of relief from it. Public with chronic pain find they could have some relief.
