Is this due to the insect bite or by some other disorder?

My friend has been diagnosed for hives. He had developed small bumps in his face and hands and after few tests they confirmed it as hives. He is facing severe pain due to this. Is this due to the insect bite or by some other disorder?

    Hello, No studies have given the clear definition for the cause of hives. But hives can be treated with proper medication and no one can say the time limits for the treatment of the hives as this may take life time for the treatment.
