How could I tell if my wrist is sprained or broken?

How could I tell if my wrist is sprained or broken? I fell on my left wrist once in football, and now, it has less mobility than my right wrist. I do not wish to go to a physician just yet, but further icing it, is there something else I should do?

  • You have to have an x-ray which is the only means to really check if you have a fracture. I work at an Orthopedics’ office, and several patients come in weeks after an injury to know whether they had a fracture, and now are in difficulty since the manner it is healing. Sports injuries are especially widespread, and if you’re still growing, you have to make sure that you don’t have damage to your growth plate. Not a major concern to get an x-ray. Go to the emergency room or call your physician. Good luck!
