Is the friend absolutely sure she has SADD? Seasonal Affective Depressive Disorder. SADD usually affects people during the transition from summer to autumn due to the decrease in daylight hours. This decrease in light affects the chemical balance in the brain( in many people)It is a form of depression that produces symptoms such as low energy, sadness, fatigue, increase/decrease in appetite, anxiety and insomnia. The symptoms you describe sound more like allergy symptoms, which can also produce sleepiness, fatigue and a general feeling of un-wellness. If your friend does have SADD, there are a variety of medications that are used (very successfully) to treat the disorder.

The treatment for the seasonal affective disorder involves small quantity of medication and large quantities psychological treatment. Helping the patients to come out of the problem they usually face in every spring.
