my mom would shortly undergo chemotherapy. doctor says she will have minor problems. how can this be true?
My friend`s mom has been given chemotherapy treatment for cancer. The side effect of chemotherapy caused weight gain and other disturbances in her during the treatment. My mom would shortly undergo chemotherapy. I am sure that she may have to suffer with the side effects too. She is already obese. But the doctor says that she will have minor problems. How can this be true?

Hi,
Chemotherapy dosing and type depends on the type and extent of the disease, overall medical condition of the patient etc. The frequency and duration differs from person to person. Your mother need not undergo the same type of chemotherapy as your friend's mom. So please don’t worry. Though chemotherapy indeed results in side effects, it need not be the same for everybody undergoing chemo. Some people may have lesser side effects. Be patient and develop positive attitude. Good luck.
