A month ago my dad had a stroke.I need help and guidance.

A month ago my dad had a stroke. He is still on bed and is recovering from it. My friend has suggested acupuncture for quick recovery from his present situation. He is so sure and has a strong belief in acupuncture and he feels that it can help my dad to have reduced chances for further chances of stroke. I need help and guidance.

  • I don't know much about acupuncture or the results it provides. What I do know, however, there really is no such thing as a quick recovery from stroke. Recovery time usually depends on the type or severity of the stroke, and how much of the body is effected. Some strokes are mild , sometimes only affecting the speech or memory. Others, on the other hand, can be bad enough to cause full or partial paralysis on one side of the body. How has your dad been affected? Does he have full paralysis that affects his ability to walk? In either case,he will probably need physical therapy to help him regain if not full but partial use of the areas effected. Physical therapy can be a long process, but most people can recover or learn to adapt.

  • Acupuncture can help in having a better stroke and health management for your dad. It can also help in reducing the chances to have future stroke. There is no guarantee that he will not have stroke, but the chances would reduce.
