Well, the cause of the tension headache is still not known well. It was understood that long term everyday stress may lead to chronic tension headache. But now it is clear that depression and stress are only triggers that may incite tension headache. It will be termed chronic, depending on the longer duration of the stress or depression. Reducing the stress will help in reducing the episodes of headache.
