Could this pain be genetically related to her mother?

My friend complains for stiffness of neck and back. Of late the pain has started to increase in his leg. Especially the knee is paining a lot these days. He is going to meet the doctor. I remember that her mother is having Degenerative disc disease. Could this pain be genetically related to her mother?

  • It may be possible. But there is an equal possibility of it to be not related to it as well. As injury due to the heavy load or general stress can combine with the genetic nature of the disease and can cause disc problems. Let him meet the doctor and come up with a good diagnosis.
