What type of exercise helps in reducing the pain of a person having been diagnosed for Chronic pain?

What type of exercise helps in reducing the pain of a person having been diagnosed for Chronic pain?. My sister is having pain in her legs and shoulders since many years. Now she is disturbed due to the increasing pain of her spine. She doesn’t want to meet the doctor as this makes her think of her pain regularly, even if the pain is supposed to reduce. I have noticed that when she is busy in some mental activity; then she doesn’t feels of the pain I that limit that she actually has when she is idle. I thought that exercise can help her?

  • Obviously, regular exercise and outing with friends will help her. This is a good observation and true that most patients of chronic pain must follow. But many are not able to follow, as they are not mentally fit. Physical fitness or any involvement in physical activity can help in having a good amount of reduction of pain in some patients. I don’t think that all patients may have similar benefits.
