What is the cause for the ectopic pregnancy and how this happens?

What is the cause for the ectopic pregnancy and how this happens? I came to know of this from my friend. What are the methods by which this can be avoided? She got treated for the ectopic pregnancy and she had abortion recently as it was found that it would be fatal for her life.

    The ectopic refers to the deposition of egg other than the uterus it leads to the various disorder and if the eggs develops there it will lead to the unwanted complication. So it better for the person to have an appointment with the doctor at the earliest.
