how long it takes to have heart disease to a person who has been diagnosed for hypertension?

My brother is having hypertension and his doctor told him that he is on high risk to have heart disease. He has been strictly advised to control his hypertension. I want to know that how long it takes to have heart disease to a person who has been diagnosed for hypertension?

  • This is not known. The duration could be somewhere between years. Now all depends upon how long you are, and how efficiently you can control your blood pressure. There are many ways to control a hypertension and if you follow it in a good way, probably you gain an advantage; to not have any chances to have hypertensive heart disease or problems, ever.
