It sounds like you could have something called an incisional hernia. When you have abdominal surgery, the surgeon has to cut through the full thickness of the abdominal muscle to get to the bowel. This cutting sometimes leaves a weakened area in the muscle. Part of the bowel then pushes through this weak area of the muscle; this is why you feel a lump and experience the "pulling" sensation. The good news is incisional hernias are fairly easy to repair.

Hi,
It is mainly due to incomplete healing of the wound in weaker portion of muscles and normally presented as incisional hernia or a bulge at or near the surgical wound. Don’t worry. It can be repaired with a simple mesh procedure. Laparoscopic procedure is good that prevents further infection and complications. Please consult with your surgeon regarding this. Mean time, do not give too much strain on the muscles. Be relaxed and take enough rest. Good luck.
