What are the risks associated with Hypothyroidism?

I mean that can it be fatal. My friend has been diagnosed for Hypothyroidism. He is having many problems and sometimes he says that he feels that he may die. I am having pity on him and I want him to be well.

    Hypothyroidism is not fatal. It could fatal when other conditions affects on his present state, otherwise everything is well. He can be treated. And he will live longer. He should keep taking the medicines and he will be treated.
