how you are managing when you are affected with bipolar?

Hi friends, I am 14 years old, male and lately found out that I have Bipolar 2 disorder and I want to know how to tell my friends about this so they could understand me better. I have told one of my close friends but I want to make my other friends know too. How you are managing when you are affected with that?

  • in my son's class there is a tourret syndrome kid. on his first day his mother came along and did a lecture with pictures to the class about tourret. then the mother and kid answered questions about his condition. i thought it was a great solution, cause people are afraid from things they don't understand. this way they know the illness and live with it.
maybe you can do something like that in your class...

  • You have been diagnosed for bipolar at the age of 14. Rarely this happens and I can understand the problem you are having. You are worried about the reaction of your friends. Your own understanding of bipolar is very important to handle these situations. You would have seen that before being diagnosed you were handling your friends with nothing known about the causes of what runs over you and those why`s are known now. Take this as an opportunity to explain the reasons for your differentness and depression. Bipolar symptoms will recede slowly and by the time you would start to feel better, you will have known a lot of ways to many people.
