What type of treatment can help my nephew in treating the DJD?

My nephew is been diagnosed for the DJD and he is looking for the alternative treatment for the recovery. What type of treatment can help him in treating the DJD? He is also planning to go for the acupuncture therapy. Will this be of any help to him?

    The treatment for the DJD involves the massage and the acupuncture therapy this helps in reducing the pain. I came to know of this as my friend got treated for the disease and the pain is reduced to a considerable amount. Acupuncture and massage therapy along with the medication for DJD is proved to be effective.
