Can traffic pollution lead to allergic reactions?
I often get skin rashes whenever I am struck in traffic. I do try to avoid my journey during the time when there is high traffic. Could I be allergic to pollution?

Might be. Meet the doctor and get yourself diagnosed for allergy. If found then you must avoid traffic. You will have to go for blood and skin tests to be diagnosed for allergy.

Absolutely. Whenever I am stuck behind a vehicle that is putting out a lot of exhaust (especially buses), I get terrible asthma attacks. This happens even when my windows are closed. In your case, it is very possible that your body reacts to this crap and manifests itself in the form of skin rashes. Since avoiding traffic is nearly impossible, and you can't spend your life being locked in your house with the windows closed, I would recommend that you take some kind of anti-histamine (such as Benedryl) 1/2 hour before you get on the road. I also suggest you see a doctor to rule out other possible causes for your rash.
