what is a visual aura?

Lately, I've been experiencing "blurry" kind of "swirly" vision in one eye that seems to come and go. I've heard that it is possible to have a visual aura that is not followed by a migraine and I am wondering if that is what is happening. I recently had dental work done and have had quite a bit of pain that I am managing with Ibuprofen. Any thoughts? Not sure if I should talk to my doctor, optometrist, dentist first.

  • doesn't sound like aura... i think you should see an ophthalmologist to check up the eye. i'm not so sure it has anything to do with the dental treatment either. it sounds like a blood clot or something in the eye.
