I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy,how much can i work out,
Im 39 and trying to get back in shape, i did complete a 5k 2 weeks ago and run a mile a day and workout at gym, just wanted to see if anyone has done anything like a mini triathlon or anything. i do have pace maker/defibulator and take medication also. will i ever be able to run a marathon, just trying to get feed back on what i might be able to do with this HCM...thanks

experts in heart abnormalities generally recommend that those with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy not participate in most competitive sports, with the possible exception of some low-intensity sports. you should really talk with your cardiologist about specific recommendations for you...no one here will give you better answer then him - he knows the severity of your hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
