What does it mean when you say “the more people that use it, the better it gets”?

iMedix’s patent-pending evolutionary search technology learns from every user’s interaction to continually deliver even more relevant, reliable results. It studies user feedback, based on the ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ recommendation feature, and modifies the search parameters accordingly in order to provide the best answers to medical questions and concerns. This way, users can benefit from the hours of online research conducted by others.

How does the search technology work and what is unique about the iMedix search results?

iMedix’s patent-pending search technology delivers the most relevant health results by studying user feedback and modifying the search parameters accordingly. The system identifies patterns of useful pages by analyzing the ‘genetic make-up’ of each page against the feedback received from users. Genetic make-up of a Web page comprises hundreds of genes, such as font, contrast, length, pictures, video and vocabulary. Millions of health articles, pictures and videos are crawled and analyzed using this method in order to provide the best answers to medical questions and concerns. In addition, each search enables users to find both relevant web pages AND people with similar conditions, based on their stated interests.

What are the main community features?

iMedix allows users to find people with similar conditions, based on their stated interests. They can communicate with these members via real-time chat, in a single click. In addition, iMedix’s private messaging system enables users to communicate with others in a secure environment when they’re offline. Finally, users can create their own networks within iMedix by adding members to their friends list.

Are there health professionals on iMedix that I can speak with?

Although we show sources that are accredited by HON, URAC and others in our search results, neither online articles nor patient-to-patient interaction should be viewed as a substitute for qualified medical advice in the case of illness or injury. iMedix emphasizes that it does not employ professionals to answer questions and/or give general or particular opinions, and that the opinions shown in its web site are composed by its members.
