Making Self-Care a Priority

During my time in the corporate world, I made choices that were not in my best interest for my overall well-being. Despite experiencing knee pain, I would sit at my desk for hours without taking breaks, ignoring my body's desperate pleas for rest. I felt a strong need to prove myself and tied my self-worth to my hard work. This drive to prove my abilities as a diligent employee and effective communicator led me to arrive early and stay late at the office, even working on weekends to keep up with my overwhelming workload.

I failed to pay attention to the warning signs from my body and continued to push through the discomfort and pain. I often ate lunch at my desk, multitasking between work and eating. However, I maintained a strict gym routine, which helped keep my stress levels in check.
