Summary
iMedix is not paid when you buy something. If you follow a link from iMedix to a pharmacy, a medical service, an online store, or any other external site and make a purchase, that purchase triggers no payment to iMedix — no commission, no percentage of the order, no referral fee, no revenue share, no payment per sale.
iMedix does still earn money from advertising, and some placements pay iMedix when a reader clicks them. iMedix is paid for the click itself. If a purchase follows, iMedix receives nothing further, and neither the size of the order nor what is in it makes any difference to what iMedix is paid.
Scope
This standard applies to editorial content and external commercial links on iMedix properties that link to it. It takes effect on 17 July 2026.
It does not extend to separate projects, independent domains, or other brands, including any that carry a similar name. Where a property does not link to this standard, the standard has not been adopted there, and no claim is made about it.
What Ended on 17 July 2026
iMedix no longer accepts commission, affiliate payment, referral fees, revenue share, or any other payment that a completed purchase triggers, determines, or increases — whatever the destination, and whatever is being sold.
A Purchase Is Not a Click
Two commercial models are often described in similar language, and the difference decides whether a publisher has a stake in what you buy. Placing an order, paying for it, choosing one product rather than another, spending more, or buying again produces no payment to iMedix and alters no payment iMedix has already received.
Payment for advertising clicks continues. Some advertising placements pay iMedix at the moment a reader clicks them. Precisely what that means:
- iMedix is paid for the click itself
- the payment does not depend on whether a purchase follows
- if a purchase does follow, iMedix receives nothing further
- the value of an order does not change what iMedix is paid
- what an order contains does not change what iMedix is paid
- buying more often, or buying more, creates no payment to iMedix
Click-based advertising remains a commercial interest, and this page does not pretend otherwise. It gives iMedix a financial interest in clicks and in advertising traffic: a reader who clicks advertising generates revenue, and a reader who clicks none does not. That interest is narrower than an interest in what a reader buys, and it stops at the click. It is also why advertising on iMedix is labelled and kept apart from editorial content.
Why Commission from External Sellers Was Removed
iMedix is a publisher, not a seller. It has never sold medication or anything else, and no reader has ever bought anything from iMedix. Purchases were only ever made on independent external sites, after a reader followed a link — and previously, an external seller could pay iMedix a commission once such a purchase was completed.
That created a structural conflict rather than a question of conduct: a publisher paid this way holds a financial stake in whether the reader buys, whether or not anyone acts on it. It can bear on which subjects are covered, how comparisons are built, how much room is given to risks, and how firmly a page pushes toward action. Editorial rules can forbid the behaviour; they cannot remove the incentive that produces it.
iMedix removed the incentive.
Direction
iMedix intends to reduce its reliance on click-based advertising revenue over time. That is a direction of travel, not a commitment to a particular outcome or a particular date, and it is stated here so that readers can judge the site by where it is going as well as where it is.
What is true today is what this page says today. Any change will be recorded in the log at the foot of this page, with the date it took effect.
Editorial Rules
- No sale-based compensation. No editorial decision on iMedix produces a payment that is triggered, determined, or increased by a reader completing a purchase.
- Editorial placement is not for sale. Commercial payment does not decide which subjects are covered; whether a medication, product, pharmacy, or service is included in an article; its position in an editorial comparison; its rating; the conclusion reached about it; how its benefits or risks are described; how its regulatory status is presented; or any medical recommendation.
- No commercial editorial control. No advertiser, pharmacy, manufacturer, retailer, or other commercial party may approve an article, veto it, rewrite its conclusions, delay its publication, suppress it, demand favourable coverage, remove accurate unfavourable information, or prevent a correction. Ordinary editorial process continues: a company may ask that a factual point be reviewed, supply documentation, or be offered the chance to comment, and a documented claim of factual error is considered on its evidence. The decision rests with iMedix editorial staff, and a commercial relationship does not make a claim correct.
- Advertising is identifiable. Advertising on iMedix is labelled, set apart visually from editorial content, and recognisable as advertising before a reader interacts with it. It is not presented in a form built to resemble an independent recommendation.
- Clinical review is independent of commercial performance. What medical reviewers are paid does not depend on clicks, sales, referrals, conversions, page-level advertising revenue, or any other commercial result. Advertising relationships do not determine medical conclusions.
- Material corrections cannot be bought. A material medical or factual error is corrected regardless of any commercial interest, and the correction is marked on the page. The same applies to a retraction. Where new evidence materially changes the medical meaning, the safety information, the regulatory position, or the practical conclusion of a page, that update is dated and noted. Typographical fixes, formatting changes, and routine link maintenance are not marked. No commercial party can buy, delay, prevent, or remove a material correction.
- Privacy is dealt with separately. How iMedix collects, uses, and shares reader data, and the choices available to you, are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Accountability
If you find something on iMedix that does not match this standard — a link that behaves like a paid referral, advertising that is not identifiable as advertising, or a comparison that reads as though it were bought — tell us through our contact page.
The operational detail behind this standard is set out in our Advertising Policy: which advertising formats iMedix accepts, how paid placements are labelled, which commercial arrangements are refused, how editorial and advertising work are kept apart, and how to complain about an advertisement.
