    • Questions:

When are we going to get generic?

Published at 18.02.2019 16:35
Pfizer, just as Eli Lilly and many other pharmaceutic giants, have immensely bad timing with generic projects not only in the U.S. but all around the world. As soon as the generic variations are launched, these corporations take enormous earnings hiccup.

So they are in a bid to guarantee their patents are well-protected. For example, Pfizer’s patent on Viagra extends until 2020.

Original medications

Original ED medications, such as Cialis and Viagra, have long been available in the U.S. However, these drugs cost one dear, therefore the U.S. consumers, both male, and female have long wished for seeing generic erectile dysfunction medications on the shelves of their local chemists.

In 2017 Eli Lilly, the manufacturer of original Cialis, signed the contract with generic manufacturers to resolve pending patent conflict in the U.S. Eli Lilly's Cialis made debut in 2003 and now reigns the U.S. market with on-demand pills and daily, low-dose ones.

Cialis, got its own generic competition last fall. Properly speaking, French pharmaceutical company Sanofi and Cialis’s Eli Lilly, are working in cooperation to acquire the rights for approval to sell Cialis with no prescription in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK once the aforementioned patent expires, of course.

Viagra will have its patent legitimate for a few more years, but Pfizer, the manufacturer, also decided to allow generics in December 2017 due to the challenge from Cialis.

Pfizer began selling its hit at half the $65-a-pill retail price soon when its patent-protected sole right ends in 2020. Generic producer Teva Pharmaceuticals can begin selling its pills then but is not unmasking the cost. (Teva began producing generic Viagra as early as in 2017, which is three years before the patent expiry date. However, it is not easy of access in the U.S. now.)

Important: Generic Viagra, known as Sildenafil, will become even more budget-friendly starting from 2020 when more alternatives go on sale.

Many more generics will go on sale next summer, which will masterfully decrease the price of generics, possibly by 90%.

This competition is good for the end consumer, as the prices will decrease. Although some people argue that generic Viagra will be still ridiculously expensive.

Note that generic Cialis and Viagra contain the same active constituent and have the same formula as the original brand drugs. They have exactly the same dosage, intended use, effects, and side effects, route of administration, risks, safety, and strength as the original drug.

Actually, generic drugs are only cheaper because the manufacturers have not had the expenses of developing and marketing a new drug.

US consumers are eagerly awaiting the release of new drugs to the country's market in 2020, but for now, they are forced to order generics abroad and pay for shipping.

The really interesting topic discussed here. Every third person has an erectile dysfunction problem major in USA and UK Country. So each and every person do not afford Brand medicine like Viagra and Cialis which active ingredient “Sildenafil Citrate” and “Tadalafil” which cure ed problem in men.
