Sudden dizziness when standing up – room spins for seconds?

For the past couple of weeks, I keep getting this really sudden dizziness/lightheadedness, like the room spins, whenever I stand up from sitting or lying down. It only lasts maybe 5-10 seconds then goes away completely. Happens several times a day. I drink plenty of water, so not dehydrated. No meds. Anyone else experience this? Should I be concerned?

  1. I get this too sometimesю Feels like a quick head rush when you stand up too fast, right? My doc said it’s usually just blood pressure dropping for a second, nothing serious if it passes quickly. Try standing up slower and drinking some electrolyte drinks.

  2. Oh I get this too! Especially around my cycle or if I haven’t eaten well. My doctor said it’s often just a blood pressure drop when standing too fast. Try getting up reeeally slowly like sit on the edge of the bed for a minute first. If you’re drinking enough water, maybe try adding a little more salt to your diet? But if it keeps happening or you feel actually faint, definitely worth mentioning to your doctor just to rule out anything else. Mine checked my iron levels too!
