Dina Daines, CNM, DNP is a Certified Nurse-Midwife at The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates in Washington, D.C. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 2008, she served as a Peace Corps Healthcare Education Specialist in Mali, West Africa from 2009-2011. There, she worked with the local midwifery community focusing on maternal and child healthcare, nutrition, and cervical cancer screening. After returning, she earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing and Master’s in Nurse Midwifery from Oregon Health and Science University. Dina went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2018, where she studied the outcomes of the Vaginal Breech Initiative at The George Washington University. She completed the Midwifery Fellowship program at The George Washington University before joining their midwifery practice as a Faculty Midwife. Dina focuses on supporting women in physiological childbirth, perinatal care, and primary …women’s health with an emphasis on providing holistic and trauma-informed care. She is also engaged in several aspects of research in midwifery outcomes and has led talks at national and local conferences on the topics of vaginal breech birth, midwifery fellowship education, and supporting low-intervention labor. Dina lives in Takoma Park, Maryland with her daughter, husband, and three cats, and loves to spend her free time exploring nature and painting.
